Generative AI

As generative AI continues to evolve and become integrated in new areas, Tennessee Tech is committeed to ensuring its students, faculty, and staff stay up-to-date and are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to best utilize generative AI in the classroom and beyond.

Task Forces and Updates

In order to better understand the impact of generative AI on higher education, and at Tennessee Tech specifically, the Provost created various taskforces to address concerns regarding AI. As AI continues to transform, additional areas will be added.

  • Policy 217 Revision

Over the summer, a group was established to review Policy 217, the Academic Misconduct Policy, in order to add information regarding the role of generative AI in academic misconduct.

You can view the revisied policy in policy central.

  • AI Task Force

To aid in navigating the news, articles, and increasing generative AI tools, as well as their impact and integration on campus, an AI Task force was established to collect information and propose ideas for the integration of AI on campus.

The taskforce consisted of members from across campus with experience in AI or technology for the various disciplines. The group's findings, classroom recommendations, and reading list can be found on the CITL website, as well as tools for implementing AI into your classroom.

A list of taskforce members can be found here.

  • MInDS Center

In addition, the College of Engineering's Computer Science Department, formally introduced their new MInDS Center. The Machine Intelligence and Data Science Center coordinates artiicfical intelligence and data science research and education efforts across Tennessee Tech University.
