Veterans Week at Tech
First held in 2018, Tennessee Tech's Veterans Week is now a much-anticipated annual event on campus. It is organized by the department of Military and Veteran Services and features a variety of events to honor and celebrate our veteran students, faculty, and staff.
Monday, November 10
Veterans Day Ceremony
Location: Jere Whitson Building
Time: 11 a.m.
Join us for Tennessee Tech’s official Veterans Day Ceremony as we honor and recognize
the service and sacrifices of veterans in our campus community and beyond. This special
event will feature our guest speaker Brent Dalton, LTC, U.S. Army Retired and Senior
Army Instructor for Cookeville High School JROTC. Light refreshments will be served.
Tuesday, November 11
Veterans Day (Federal Holiday)
No classes will be held on this day and campus offices will be open.
Wednesday, November 12
Veterans Appreciation Day
Location: Campus-wide
Departments across campus will participate in a day of appreciation for Tech’s veteran
community.
Veterans Town Hall
Location: RUC Tech Pride Room
Time: 4–7 p.m.
VA Speaker: 5:15 p.m.
Join us for the Veterans Town Hall with Heather Elliott, U.S. Veteran Affairs Outreach
Specialist, as she shares vital information and answers questions about veterans’
benefits.
Thursday, November 13
Veterans Block Party
Location: Walton Park
Time: 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Celebrate camaraderie and fun at the Veterans Block Party, featuring an exciting game
of kickball between Veterans and Army ROTC Cadets! Light refreshments will be served.
Friday, November 14
Red Out Day
Show your support for veterans by participating in National Red Out Day on November 14 — wear red to honor and recognize the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes.
