TLC Testing

The mission of the Volpe Library – Testing and Learning Center Ambassadors is to support student academic success by fostering an inclusive, collaborative learning environment. Through peer engagement, leadership development, and partnerships with campus resources, ambassadors serve as advocates for learning support services and promote student achievement across Tennessee Technological University.

2. Hands-on experience in peer mentoring, academic support, and campus programming.
3. Networking opportunities with faculty, staff, and campus administrators.
4. Training in academic success strategies, learning resources, and student support services.
5. Service and involvement hours that strengthen resumes, graduate school, and scholarship applications.
6. A supportive community focused on collaboration, learning, and personal growth.

1. Increase student awareness and utilization of Testing and Learning Center services.
2. Support academic success through workshops, study sessions, and peer-led learning initiatives.
3. Promote a welcoming and inclusive learning environment within the Volpe Library and across campus.
4. Strengthen collaboration between students, faculty, staff, and academic support programs.

Constitution of the Volpe Library – Testing and Learning Center Ambassadors
Article I:
The name of this organization shall be the Tennessee Technological University Volpe Library – Testing and Learning Center Ambassadors.
Article II: Purpose
The purpose of the Association is to:
1. Promote a collaborative learning environment that supports academic success.
2. Develop leadership, communication, and mentoring skills among ambassadors.
3. Partner with faculty, staff, and campus programs to improve student learning outcomes.
4. Facilitate workshops, study sessions, and academic support events.
Article III: Membership
1. Membership is open to all students’ campus wide who are approved through application.
2. Members must demonstrate a genuine interest in promoting and supporting student success and academic support.
3. Members must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
4. Members must uphold school conduct standards and support the mission of the university
5. No person shall be denied membership based on race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected status.
Article IV: Officers
1. President
•Organize and preside over meetings, activities, and events
•Acts as the liaison between members and advisor
•Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and campus departments
2. Vice President
•Assists the President
•Manages communication and awareness of meetings and events among ambassadors
3. Secretary
•Records meeting minutes
•Maintains official documents, member rosters, and communication
Elections
•Elections are held annually during the spring semester.
•Officers serve one-year terms and may be re-elected.
Article V: Meetings
1. General meetings shall be held at least six times per academic year.
2. Special meetings may be called by the President or by a majority vote of the officers
3. A quorum for voting shall consist of at least 50% of active members.
Article VII: Advisor
1. The advisor shall be the Manager of the Learning Center and shall be assisted by the Director and Assistant Director of the Testing and Learning Center.
2. The advisor shall provide guidance, attend key meetings, and ensure compliance with this constitution and university policies.
Article VIII: Finances
1. There are no fees required to become a member
Article IX: Amendments
1. Amendments to this constitution may be proposed by any active member.
2. Proposed amendments must be submitted in writing.
3. A two-thirds majority vote of active members is required for adoption.
