Student Communication
- » Syllabus Text
If you will be using TLC Testing, you may want to include the text below on your syllabus:
Students will be taking tests in TLC Testing for this course. There are strict primary ID requirements to test there, so be sure you have a passport OR an ID issued by the United States government (driver's license, state ID, or military ID). Whichever primary ID you bring, it must satisfy all of these requirements:
- is physical (not digital)
- has your photo on it
- has your signature on it
- is current and unexpired
- has an expiration date that occurs after your exam day (an expiration date of 00/00/0000 does not count)
TLC Testing has many security measures. All testing areas are under video surveillance, proctors walk around the testing room frequently, most items are prohibited in the testing room, and you must turn your pockets inside out and pull up your sleeves before entering the testing room. Please see their website for more information: https://www.tntech.edu/library/testing/index.php.
- » Video for Class
We have created a short introductory video for students so they know what to expect when taking exams in TLC Testing. We suggest you show this video in your class before the first exam. Students will receive a link to this video in future emails, but it's helpful to show it as a class, and you can answer any questions that may arise.
- » Student Scheduling
Our website has a lot of information for students, including how to schedule exams. We also send you an email with specific instructions for your students once they can schedule your exam. It is important for you to forward that email to your class to minimize scheduling issues.
If your students have issues with scheduling or other TLC Testing procedures, they should email tlc@tntech.edu. If we correspond with your students, we will copy you on those emails to keep you informed.
