MBA Advising
Academic Advising Requirement
MBA students are required to get advised by their academic advisor each semester before registering for classes. Advising ensures you're on track with your degree plan and helps you make informed decisions about your course selections.
How Advising Works
- Your advisor will contact you via your official Tech email once advising opens.
- Advising may be completed through email or a virtual meeting, depending on your advisor's availability.
- After advising, you’ll receive an alternate PIN—a unique, six-digit code required to access the registration system.
Registering for Courses
- Use Eagle Online via the Tech Express portal to register.
- Register manually using the Course Reference Number (CRN) instead of relying on the Schedule Planner.
- Enroll in courses listed under sections M10 or M11, which are designated for graduate students.
- 500-level sections are reserved for undergraduates in the Fast Track program.
Tips for Successful Registration
- Register early to secure your preferred courses—classes can fill up quickly.
- If a course is full:
- Contact your advisor for alternatives.
- You may be added to a waitlist, which helps departments track demand.
Tuition Waiver Students
If you are using a state-funded tuition waiver, you must wait until specific registration dates.
- These dates are shared via email and posted on the Graduate Information Hub.
- Typically, waiver students register about one month before the semester starts.
Time Commitment Per Course
Expect to spend 6–8 hours per week on each course during a 15-week semester.
- Log into each course 3–5 times per week to stay current on materials and deadlines.
