Biology is the study of living organisms at all levels, ranging from investigations into molecular structure and processes to studies of complex interactions among different organisms. Because of the complexity of these levels and the amazing diversity of living organisms, biology is divided into a number of disciplines that concentrate on biotic processes at a particular level or for a specific group of organisms. The Health Science concentration provides prerequisite courses in biology, chemistry and physics for health professional schools, along with studies in anatomy, physiology, disease and prevention. Electives cover immunology, endocrinology, histology, and medical ethics. Graduates pursue careers as technicians, public health professionals or use the program for medical and allied health school admission.
