Shibori Scarves

In this festive hands-on workshop, you’ll learn a new take on the traditional Japanese art of Shibori—a resist-dyeing technique that creates beautiful patterns in fabric. Using indigo dye and fiber reactive dyes, each participant will design and dye two colorful and unique scarves, perfect for gifting or keeping as wearable art. No experience necessary.

French Rolling Pin

Create a French-style rolling pin, an essential tool for any baker! With its handle-less design and tapered shape, the french rolling pin is both elegant and easy to use. In this workshop, we will start with the fundamentals of woodturning, from lathe safety and proper turning technique to shaping, sanding and finishing. Participants will first practice basic spindle turning and will then move on to make their own french rolling pins from start to finish.

Clay Serving Tray

Make your own ceramic serving tray, just in time for holiday gatherings! You’ll create a beautiful statement piece to display charcuterie, sweet treats, or anything your heart desires. We’ll work with stoneware clay, transforming it with the slab roller, textured mats, slump molds, and stunning glazes. Students will make 1-3 trays, which will be fired at ACC and ready for pickup on December 8.

Woodturned Pen

Get into pen turning! Discover the fun and addictive art of woodturning custom pens in this workshop. We’ll cover the fundamentals of woodturning, from lathe safety to basic turning techniques, and practice turning some basic spindles before jumping into pen turning. Each participant will turn and finish a pen or two, perfect for gifting for a loved one or keeping for yourself!

Glass Ornament
30 minute sessions from 10am - 1pm and 2pm - 5pm
Hot Shop

Experience the joy of glassblowing and create your own blown-glass ornament. Participants will work one-on-one with an instructor, who will assist them through the process of creating their own holiday ornament. From gathering, blowing a bubble, adding color, and shaping their ornament, you’ll create an ornament from start to finish in just 30 minutes. Please note that ornaments will not be ready to take home right away- they’ll be ready for pickup at the Craft Center on December 3, or participants can have them shipped for a small fee.
