Research interests:
(a) Applying the ionic liquids strategy to bio-renewable materials and utilizing the new materials for different applications such as pharmaceutical (e.g., drug delivery systems for active pharmaceutical ingredients) and environmental applications (e.g., removal of heavy metals from the environment);
(b) Synthesis, development, and study of new forms of active pharmaceutical ingredients in ionic liquid form that will overcome the disadvantages associated with the solid phase, along with developing new improved delivery systems.
