Research & Creative Inquiry Day Winners
Earlier this year, the 20th annual Research & Creative Inquiry Day was held on campus and provided an opportunity for students at any level of study to collaborate with other students to conduct research and present their findings in the form of posters. The posters were evaluated by judges and scored on various criteria that assessed their visual appearance/organization and their content. This year saw over 200 poster submissions across a range of disciplines, and we’d like to recognize and congratulate the winners among the Biology Department entries!
In the undergraduate category, Caitlyn Petrey was named winner for her entry Soil analysis at native habitat sites for the federally endangered plant species Physaria

In the Masters section, Ari Mortensen took the top spot for his project Functional Analysis of Silent Information Regulator 2 (Sir2) in Pyricularia oryzae. Justin King was 2nd author.
