Honors Program

About Tech Honors

Curious about Tech Honors? The Honors program is a student-centered academic program. It's not an honors society, nor a more difficult version of your major.

Frida with Big Sibs

We're looking for intellectually ready, open-minded students who want to stretch their individual strengths, both within and beyond their academic field.

High scores and high grades don't tell the entire story.

Honors offers a dynamic combination of research, leadership, civic engagement and service, communication, team-building, and committed cultural understanding within a community of learners.

You can read more in our Honors Informational Slides.

It's not just about what looks good on a resume:

Tech Honors is about being a scholar who is —

    • Open to growth, ready to think and question as a citizen of the world,
    • A creative problem-solver, ready to look for reliable sources and to try new approaches.
    • Uses responsible initiative, curiosity, and creative thinking skills to explore and inquire.

Honors means serving the world more deeply through a commitment to —

    • Critical thinking that goes beyond formulaic, well-trod paths.
    • Servant leadership that goes beyond simple solutions and feel-good projects.
    • Learning about how to keep learning: a commitment to process, not completing requirements and "getting it over with."

Learning how to ask more penetrating questions in all aspects of life—and doing so with a supportive community of thinkers—is at the heart of the Honors experience.
