Wings Up
Tennessee Tech University

“Wings up” is more than a motto - it’s who we are

“Wings up” means grit and getting it done. It means purpose and drive. “Wings up” means preparing for the future you want – and reaching it on your own terms.

Every school has a battle cry. We have an anthem.

“I visited the campus many times and met many of the professors that solidified my decision that Tech is the best place to further my education. It is obvious that the teachers at Tech are truly interested in the success of their students. All of my teachers are understanding, well-informed and helpful in navigating the college world. The teachers, students and staff involved in day-to-day activities are all welcoming and kind. My education has truly flourished at Tech, and I cannot wait to see where this academic journey leads me next.”

“My favorite thing about Tech is how I feel at home. It’s also the best engineering school in the state.”

““It feels like you have direct access to your professors. We all know and love Mr. Gunnels, design studies lecturer. I’m his teaching assistant, and it just feels like we’re a team working through everything together. I wouldn’t have gotten my internship with Legacy South Home Builders in Nashville without Mr. Gunnels. It’s been an amazing experience. And the best part is, anybody in our program can get opportunities like this. We have so many connections, and everybody is getting great internships early.””

“I transferred to Tech because of the strong business program, welcoming campus community and opportunity. Tech offered a perfect balance of academics, athletics and personal growth.”

“The ample generosity of the Financial Aid Department and College of Engineering played an instrumental role in my ability to afford college. It enabled me to fulfill the promise that I made to myself during high school to subsidize my pursuit of higher education without exceptional financial dependence on my parents, both of whom have poured abundantly into my development.”

– Trevon Collins, Mechanical Engineering
